PROJECT 1:

THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE: OBJECT >> FORM >> SPACE
This project is a group work which transforms ‘Project 1: The Object of Mystery into architectural space
and form. The main aim of Project 2 is to explore the relationships between human body and design. Project 2
consists of 2 small components: It is a combination of a small design exercises which explore space and form in
relation to the human body, and a full-scaled installation.
‘GRAFTED’ SPACE.
This project explores the notion of ‘space’ for the self through the modification of an existing simple
architectural space. we are required to design a hideout space for the self by ‘grafting’ or engaging it to an
existing space within the walls in a “city”. The design should be inspired by the our spatial perception of
hideout and the way by which the space is to be ‘grafted’ to the existing walls. Considerations were to be given to
anthropometry, openings and the exploration of light/shadow.
DESIGNING AN OBJECT OF MYSTERY
This ice-breaking design project introduced the principles and methods in design thinking through the design of
an object of mystery. In orders and variants of three: design principles, building blocks and techniques, students
will be required to reproduce an object the size of a rubrics cube that explore the three rules. Students are also
required to experiment with materials, joints, surfaces and form in designing the object
